05.08.2009 The two Italian companies, Eutro Log and Laem System, have their sights set on the future.
This was confirmed by the recent Open House that they organised in full collaboration to demonstrate to clients that flexibility and partnership are the ideal equation for devising new possibilities to put on the market.
Laem System is an Italian manufacturer of slitter rewinders for the converting industry and has been involved for years in integrated and flexible research to meet the needs of its clients. This research into developing increasingly effective and efficient slitters, capable of shrinking dead times to the minimum, through highly automated solutions for reel loading and unloading, cutting edge technology for slitting, specialised and operator friendly interface, has motivated the company of Casale Monferrato to research a solution to the ‘bottleneck’ problem that a fast production phase tends to generate in the packaging department.
This led to the partnership with Eutro Log, a dynamic and avant-garde company specialised in robotics and automation with premises in Cantù. Eutro Log, comprising an impressive team of specialist engineers, proposes effective and added value solutions to industries of diverse sectors, with specialisation in the packaging field.
With the aim of proposing integrated solutions to the client and conveying the spirit of collaboration that epitomises the two companies, Eutro Log and Laem System organised an Open House from 13 to 17 July where technology and automation presented an automatic plant for the unloading, handling, quality control, packaging and palletising of finished reels, capable of managing the tracking of the product and the production reports. Main features of the plant:
• Automation of the reel unloading operations: more safety and hygiene.
• Automatic packaging and identification of every single reel.
• Automatic palletisation.
• Product traceability from slitting through to forwarding.
• Dimensional check of every reel: width, diameter, weight.
• Management of any non-compliance: defects, out-of-tolerance dimensions, quality.
• Production reporting, with local and remote supervision.

When combined with the Laem System TR415 dual-shaft slitter-rewinder or the TR555 slitter-rewinder for paper and flexible films, the plant is able to drastically reduce the number of personnel required for handling the finished reels.
